QUEEN ANNE TOWNHOUSE

A contemporary design with simple traditional elements connects the new garden to this charming historical house in the centre of Sevenoaks, Kent.

A substantial terrace paved in a pale limestone throws light back into the entertaining spaces inside the house and entices the homeowners outside. Wide, chunky steps lead up through a deep planting border full of scented white roses, purple salvia and soft grasses, to a Sundowner terrace that catches the last of the evening light. Here a beautiful multi-stem amelanchier tree underplanted with hydrangea and cistus ‘Sunset’ provides a sense of maturity as well as interest across all four seasons.

A pair of paths laid in traditional Belgian clay pavers connect the two terraces as well as visually referencing the old brick walls that surround this garden, softening the more modern elements of the design.

Rhiannedd literally transformed our garden. She was so easy to communicate with, listened carefully to our brief, and gave us just what we wanted and so much more. The whole process was smooth and stress free. We’d definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to revamp their outdoor space.
